The Crestwood Public Library District began as a volunteer library in 1969.  In 1973, the Crestwood Public Library District was formed when the people of the Village voted on a referendum to start a tax-supported library system.  The library as been located at its present location since August, 1987, and the renovation/expansion of the entire building was completed in January, 1995. Our building was 7,935 square feet and we served a populations of 9,842 (2000 Census).
